'Jihad Jane' Gets Break For Cooperating With Feds

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A federal judge in Philadelphia has agreed to a reduced sentence for a Pennsylvania woman involved in a deadly terror plot, because of her extensive cooperation with investigators.

Judge Petrese Tucker has accepted a government request to reduce Colleen LaRose's sentence. LaRose had faced a potential life term.

Prosecutors are still asking for decades in prison, fearing she remains dangerous.

LaRose, of Pennsburg, Pa., called herself "Jihad Jane" online and agreed to kill a Swedish artist who had offended Muslims.

Both sides agree that she was lonely and isolated and endured harsh abuse throughout her life. But they disagree on how great a threat she was.

The 50-year-old LaRose smiled at her lawyers as she was brought into court in a head scarf and prison jumpsuit.
