Here's what you should and should not put in the fridge

What is the best way to make the food you buy last longer?
FOX 35 spoke to Chef Rodney Phillips from GFS Marketplace about the common mistakes shoppers make when storing groceries at home.
Chef Phillips warns not to place tomatoes in the refrigerator because the colder temperatures can change the texture of the fruit's skin. He says they will taste better and last longer if they ripen on the counter.
Uncut onions are also meant for the pantry; however chopped or cut onions should be put into a sealable container and stored in the fridge.
