Brevard health officials: Third person battling H1N1 on life support
TITUSVILLE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
A third person in Brevard County is on life support after contracting a deadly flu virus, according to the director of the Brevard County Health Department. The person is described as a man in his 40s and is confirmed to be battling the H1N1 virus at Jess Parish Hospital in Titusville.
Director Heidar Heshmati says two others - a pregnant woman in her 30s and a 62-year-old man - are also on life support due to influenza.
Earlier this week, a woman in her 30s died at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne after suffering flu symptoms.
Brevard County health officials have warned of an uptick in flu activity in the past few weeks and have urged anyone over 6 months old to get the flu vaccine.
Heshmati did not release the names of woman who died, or the two patients on life support.
