It was a hero's welcome for a warrior returning back home to Winter Park on Wednesday.
Lt. Chuck Nadd, a 2007 graduate of Trinity Preparatory School and a Black Hawk pilot who recently served in Afghanistan, was treated to fanfare and a parade including bands and Budweiser Clydesdales. It was a complete surprise and a bit overwhelming for Lt. Nadd.
"It's a real blessing to see how much everyone cares, because a lot of times, you're in tough circumstances or you're in situations where you don't know if folks back home remember," said Lt. Nadd. "Days like today show that everybody really does remember, and that means a lot. Like I said, there are so many folks who have given so much more than me. We just want to keep them in our thoughts and prayers, folks who are still back there, because they're really the heroes."
It was rumored that the Budweiser Clydesdales were present for some type of promotional spot being filmed by Anheuser-Busch for the Super Bowl; however the company would not confirm that.
