Man Proposes To Girlfriend At Spot Where They First Met

Posted: Updated:

You would never think that a grocery store is a romantic place, but a Florida man pops the question on register two at a Whole Foods in Coral Gables.

Vladimir Romannikov and Monica Dehombre met a year ago as they were waiting in line at register two. Vladimir noticed Monica shopping and followed her through the store.

"I see Monica and I'm we're walking around the store. I'm trying to follow her a little trying to start a conversation, but she's really serious about her shopping," Romannikov recalled.

When she was checking out, Vladimir made his move.

"I didn't even notice him… he was following me around the whole store...and we got to cash register two and he finally realized that was his last opportunity, so he turns to me and says so you shop all organic, huh?" Monica Dehombre recalled.

The little pickup line worked because the conversation went all the way to the parking lot. The two have been dating ever since.

When it was time to pop the question, the groom-to-be thought there was no better place than where the two first met.

"And there was an announcement saying attention customers: Monica and Vladimir please report to register two and then we started walking and I heard John Legend's "All of Me," my favorite song playing," Dehombre recalled.

Vladimir had coordinated everything with the store manager and thankfully, she said yes.

"We came out, we met Vladimir and he was so genuine and had such a fun idea that we were really excited to help him coordinate it," Whole Foods store manager Camille lamb said.

"Shop at whole foods to find love," Dehombre said.
