Dog Survived For A Week In Sub-Zero Temperatures

MADISON, ME -

A heartwarming tale of survival: a dog is found alive after being missing for over one week. He managed to overcome sub-zero temperatures.

"He's the miracle dog," said Janet Boothby.

While visiting relatives in Maine, owners of the beautiful boxer, Dempsey, 1, made a frightening discovery. Their beloved pooch had run away as temperatures in the northeast continued to drop. After scanning the area multiple times, the family was forced to give up.

"Nothing, nothing. I thought, ‘this isn't good, this isn't good,'" Boothby recalled "That was really almost the worst part was my grand kids having to leave without their dog."

However, thanks to a stranger who saw Dempsey's missing poster online, he was finally found alive, freezing in an abandoned warehouse.

"The kids didn't have school that day and I thought, ‘I'll just pack 'em up just for ten minutes. I'll just go look for ten minutes.'" Recalled Christine Pierce. "I cried, ‘ha ha,' I was happy and then I looked at him and didn't know if he was alive or he opened eyes..."

The family, who reside in Maryland, also endured another scare: Dempsey was reportedly hit by a car and broke his leg. However, thanks to the collision, he finally stopped running, and his life was saved.
