Shopper brings too many items to speedy checkout; man snaps
PUNTA GORDA (FOX 13) -
A man in Punta Gorda is accused of snapping at a checkout counter.
Charlotte County Deputies say William Golladay attacked a man at a Walmart checkout counter over the weekend, because he had 22 items in the 20 items or less line.
The 67year-old disabled victim was unloading the items from his motorized scooter at the time. Once he reached 20 items, witnesses say Golladay started shouting and slammed his cart into the victim's elbow.
Golladay was escorted from the store but returned a few minutes later to confront the man again. Deputies were called, and he was arrested.
Golladay, who is 77, was charged with battery on a person 65 or older.
