A woman in Washington Twp. was pulled over for suspected drunken driving after an anonymous tip. The woman failed a sobriety test, was unwilling to comply when she was placed under arrest and was therefore tasered by police - all in front of an 11-year-old girl.

It started just before 7 p.m. on Sunday at Buffalo Wild Wings when a patron spotted a customer, who appeared drunk, to begin leaving with a kid. The patron called 911 and described the vehicle to the dispatcher and expressed concern about the woman appearing to be driving while intoxicated.

Coincidentally, Macomb Co. police were not far away and soon surrounded the vehicle that 50-year-old April Mitchell driving with the young girl by her side.

Mitchell failed more than a few field sobriety tests and, when informed that she was under arrest, was unwilling to comply. Investigators say she stiffed up her body, refused to reveal her hands and started twisting and turning to deter being detained.

That's when a deputy deployed his taser two times.

Mitchell's blood alcohol level was .19, more than twice the legal limit. She did spend some time in jail, posted bond and was released. She has been charged with child endangerment and resisting arrest.

One of Mitchell's family members told Fox 2's Andrea Isom he is thankful no one was hurt, and that Mitchell made a mistake and accepts she must deal with consequences that will come.
