Detroit auditions featured on Wednesday's 'American Idol'

Posted: Updated:

DETROIT (WJBK) -- All eyes were on the Motor City during Wednesday night's 'American Idol' episode that showcased talent discovered during its Detroit auditions last year.

It was back in July when thousands stood outside Ford Field hoping to get a spot in the front of judges Harry Connick Jr., Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban. Those who made the cut were invited to the Westin Book Cadillac in October to shoot scenes for the new season of the hit Fox talent show.

FOX 2's Randy Wimbley watched the episode with some local Idol hopefuls who auditioned for the show.

American Idol auditions continue Thursday, January 23 from 8-10 p.m. on Fox 2.
