Weekend Roundup: El Nosh Truck, Fit Expo & Pacific Mambo Orchestra

Posted: Updated:

FOX 11's food and fun expert Mar Yvette searches the Los Angeles area for some of the best places to eat, drink, shop and have a great time. Featured guests then swarm our FOX Television Center parking lot every Thursday morning between 9am and 10am on Good Day LA, creating a big party as one jam-packed segment known as the Weekend Roundup!

Here's more information about the guests we featured:

Latin-Jewish fusion cuisine, what?!! Leave it to wacky "Iron Chef" Eric Greenspan (and chef Roberto Treviño) to come up with a food truck loaded with a menu that merges south-of-the-border favorites with deli classics. Think whitefish tortitas, pastrami & dill croquettas, yucca latkes and smoked-salmon cream cheese quesadillas. The El Nosh food truck hits the streets of LA this weekend and will be at the Downtown LA Flea on Sunday, January 26. Be prepared to experience something totally new and utterly outrageous. Ay ay vey!

Still trying to make good on your New Year's resolutions? Let the Fit Expo at the LA Convention Center this weekend help you do it! The two-day event (Saturday, January 25 and Sunday, January 26 ) is your chance to meet fitness pros like Roland Kickinger and Viveca Jensen and check out the hottest new fitness must-haves including the Rollfit Vogue, which promises to shed inches in just one month's time; Strong Board Balance, which strengthens your muscles and gives you a complete core workout; and Piloxing, a non-stop cardio fusion of standing pilates, boxing and dance.

The Grammys are this Sunday night in LA and we have Pacific Mambo Orchestra here for a little pre-show performance to celebrate their 2014 nomination for Best Tropical Latin Album. Led by pianist Christian Tumalan and trumpeter Steffen Kuehn, this 19-piece ensemble injects the sounds of the Big Band era with Latin energy and diverse musical influences. Their self-titled debut includes everything from salsa, bachata and cha-cha to sweeping romantic ballads, with traces of American jazz, R&B, classical and Afro-Cuban music. It's the new sound of mambo!
