New Harry Potter attraction to span between Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure

ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

Harry Potter fans rejoice!

Officials announced via webcast Thursday morning, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is expanding into Universal Studios.

The current attraction "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade" is located in the Islands of Adventure Park.

Officials say the new project named "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley" will be open to park guests this summer. 

And just like the books and films, park guests will be able to travel between both areas on the iconic Hogwarts Express.

Universal Orlando launched "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade" at its Islands of Adventure theme park in 2010. 

Park officials say new expansion is the first centrally the med, multi-park experience in the world. 

After arriving at King's Cross Station aboard the Hogwarts Express, guests will pass through London and the iconic brick wall archway into Diagon Alley. 

Guest can also expect new shops, dining experiences, and a new ride called Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts.
