PHOENIX (KSAZ) -

A man lead police on a high speed chase after carjacking an 89 year-old woman in the parking lot of a supermarket.  His run from police did not last long and he's now facing a number of charges.

On Tuesday Sybil Narber shopped at a Fry's store at 91st Avenue & Union Hills, put groceries into her 1996 Honda Civic and was just about to leave when Peoria Police say Marshall Dixon carjacked her. Dixon is 21 and Narber is 89.

"He really flung me on the ground and I have had hip surgery in August and that is the side I fell on and I am still recuperating from that" said Narber.

Dixon raced out of the parking lot hitting another car then leading police on a chase before he bailed at 35th Ave. & Bell and wound up in cuffs.

When asked why he ran he had this to say, "Cause I had to get out of there, couldn't do it". Dixon also acknowledged that he nearly hurt other people, "Yeah I know" said Dixon.

Sybil is still bruised but otherwise ok, she says police told her Dixon was on drugs and was after more money to get another fix. "Well at the time I was mad he would do such thing and when I found out what he said he needs help to get off of those drugs is what he needs" said Narber.

Dixon faces charges of robbery and aggravated assault.
