FORD HEIGHTS (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A 16-year-old boy has been charged as an adult with fatally shooting another teenage boy earlier this week in south suburban Ford Heights.

Paris Walker, of Ford Heights, was ordered held without bond on first-degree murder charges Friday by Judge Darron Brown at the Markham Courthouse, in connection to the shooting death of 17-year-old Malik McMillan, according to a statement from the Cook County State's Attorney's office.

About 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Walker and McMillan got into an argument in the 1400 block of Ambassador Lane in Ford Heights, prosecutors claim.

When McMillan tried to leave, Walker allegedly fired several shots that struck the 17-year-old, the statement said.

McMillan was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:07 p.m. according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

McMillan's home address was unclear Friday afternoon. The boy's home was listed in the 16800 block of South Shea Avenue in Hazel Crest by the medical examiner's office, but the Cook County Sheriff's office said McMillan was from East Hazel Crest, and the state's attorney's office said he was from Ford Heights.

Walker was arrested by sheriff's deputies later that evening, according to the state's attorney's office.

Walker will appear in court for a preliminary hearing Feb. 13.
