Heart break, it is the same in any language. For Mario Segovia it came when his 2-year-old Chihuahua, Shorty, was snatched as he looked on. The 87-year-old man was walking his faithful companion when the dog wandered into a liquor store as the elderly man followed closely behind. Two men grabbed Shorty and wrapped him in a jacket and jumped in their truck. 87-year-old Segovia managed to grab a hold of the truck's passenger side window but according to his grandson he was slapped twice in order to get him off the truck.
Joe Segovia tells us his "grandpa is devastated and has, for the first time in decades, cried because he lost his loving companion. Grandpa now refuses to eat and is depressed."
The Segovia family says they will not press charges they just want their grandfathers one and only friend back. They are willing to buy it back if it was sold to an unsuspecting person.
The incident took place in Boyle Ehights. For more information on how you can help go to the Facebook page: https://m.facebook.com/LostAndFoundPawsInLosAngelesMetroArea?ref=m_notif¬if_t=like&__user=1516841041
