BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -

Drivers in Birmingham also found themselves stranded by the ice this week, but it is not everyday a driver gets rescued by a helicopter.

A business owner, who just happened to have his own bird, flew in to help his father. Icy conditions forced his dad to seek shelter overnight at a church.

"Well, that's what I deserve! Of course, it's unbelievable, I'm kidding. I can't imagine this. Never in my wildest dreams. First time I've ever been stranded, and then he came and picked me up," said David Upton.

David Upton used his chopper to help others, including rescuing a pregnant woman who was stranded in the snow.
