A man from Champaign County, Ohio went out just the way he always wanted to by sitting on his beloved 1967 Harley motorcycle.
Bill Standley decided 18 years ago that instead of handing his Harley down to his kids, he wanted to be buried with it. Having two sons and only one bike, he decided that he would be buried with his Harley sitting on it to be exact.
"Some people walk through the pearly gates, some people ride," said Standley's daughter, Dorothy Brown.
What started as a family joke turned into a reality just a few days ago. "I think it was about two weeks after that it really hit him- what a great idea. And we all just like dad! and he goes, no that's how I'm going out! We all still thought he was kidding. 18 years later, guess what," said Brown.
Bill's family says the road and his Harley will never leave him now. The ceremony was off beat but heartfelt, just how Bill would have wanted it.
