Three arrested in Cobb Co. officer involved shooting

COBB COUNTY, Ga. -

 

Cobb County authorities have arrested three suspects who were involved in an officer-involved shooting early Tuesday morning.

The shooting happened at around 2:30 a.m. along Powers Ferry Rd. north of Interstate 285, according to Cobb police.

Police say the shooting followed a traffic stop involving a blue Volvo.

The wounded officer is described as being in stable condition at a local medical center.

Police activity scaled back at the shooting scene about four hours after the shooting.

But at 6 a.m., an active search was underway at the Chattahoochee Chase apartments on River Bend Club Dr., a few miles from where the shooting happened.

Officers were searching for two men and a woman. One of the men is described as a Caucasian man with a crew cut hairstyle, two full arms of tattoos and a Nike "swoosh" tattoo on his face. The female is described as Caucasian, also, with dirty blonde hair.

No word on the circumstances surrounding their capture. Authorities anticipate charges.
