Hudgens: Insured losses from storm top $10 million

According to the office of the Georgia Insurance Commissioner, insured losses from the January 28 snow storm is estimated at about $10 million.

"This estimate includes damages to insured homes and vehicles," Commissioner Ralph Hudgens said. "Losses now stand at $10 million."

Hudgens says this estimate is only a partial listing based on the major insurance carriers.

In a release from Hudgens office, he suggests Georgians call his Consumer Services Division at 404-656-2070, or outside the Metro area at 1-800-656-2298 if they have questions about a claim or if they are experiencing difficulty reaching their insurance company.

Phone lines are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
