Police: Man shoots intruder inside Bloomfield Twp. apartment

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) -- Police say an Oakland County man shot one of two home invasion suspects following a confrontation inside his Bloomfield Twp. apartment Monday night.

The resident tells police the suspects forced their way inside the home on the 1600 block of Bloomfield Place around 9:30 p.m. and demanded money. The resident agreed to give the suspects his money and led one of the intruders into a bedroom.

At that point, police say the resident grabbed a firearm, struggled with the suspect and eventually fired shots.

The suspects fled the scene, but one, a 21-year-old, was found at McLaren Hospital in Pontiac with a gunshot wound. He was interviewed, arrested and transferred to Beaumont Royal Oak Hospital for treatment. .

The second suspect has not been located.  He is described as a white male, in his mid-20's, approximately 6'0" tall, 150 pounds, wearing a dark colored coat and stocking cap.
