Daytona Beach house fire

Posted: Updated:

The State Fire Marshall is now investigating the cause of a fire that engulfed and completely destroyed a home on Kilgore Street early Saturday morning.

Fire Officials and neighbors on the one-way street say it's an absolute miracle no other homes were destroyed.

Four fire agencies including Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach, Holly Hill, and Volusia County Fire Rescue responded.

Fire Officials say it took 35-40 minutes to finally contain the fire.

Officials say no one was inside the five bedroom, single-story home at the time of the fire.

The homeowners say they were on vacation in Colombia.

Nearby neighbors offered comfort and support to those who lived in the home by offering their home to stay at and providing food.

The State Fire Marshall will work to determine the exact cause of the fire.
