Search for missing FSU student

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

A new development in the case of a missing Florida State University student who investigators say disappeared on Feb. 2.

Police say a ping from Ryan Uhre's cellphone in South Florida was picked up on Thursday, leading the search for the 23-year-old to Pompano Beach.

Uhre, a South Florida native, was reported missing on Friday, but was last seen on Super Bowl Sunday at the Tallahassee restaurant Andrew's Capital Grill and Bar on Adams Street at 9:10 p.m.

Police don't suspect foul play, but Uhre's family said it's unusual for him not to be in contact with them or his friends.

Friends and family have turned to social media to help locate him.

Investigators are now checking out a local bar in the Pompano Beach area where the cellphone was reportedly turned on and off, and where at least one person said they saw him.

If you have any information regarding Uhre's whereabouts, you are asked to call Broward County CrimeStoppers at 954-493-TIPS or the FSU Police Department at 850-644-1234.
