Bull Running Event Draws Thousands Of Runners And Spectators

Posted: Updated:

A Spaniard tradition comes to Arizona each year in the form of bull racing. Thrill seekers only pay $30 to participate while spectators pay $12.

One participant, Wade Rochal, calls it exhilarating, but says the 12 bulls aren't the real problem: "man, its crazy. I won the first one, the second one was a little bit messed up, some guy in an Elvis costume knocked me down."

The event is intimidating, so runners are required to sign a waiver for the event to be safe; a reminder to participants that you really do only live once.

Each year draws more thrill-seekers to Cave Creek, Arizona. Winners do receive a cash prize for their runs.

"The way I look at it everybody dies not everybody really lives," Rochal said.
