SOUTH PHILADELPHIA -

University of Missouri football star Michael Sam came out publicly yesterday.

The All-American Defensive End could become the first openly gay player in America's most popular sport.

FOX 29's Jennifer Joyce went to South Philadelphia for more reaction to Sam's announcement.

With that announcement, comes a lot of chatter, speculation and opinions will Michael Sam's decision to tell the world that he is a gay man affecting his potential future in the National Football League? The draft is just 3 months away former Philadelphia eagle Gary Cobb weighs in...

:There will be some teams that feel maybe it will be a benefit some teams are looking for exposure they know this will give them exposure," Cobb said.

But Cobb says other teams, may think twice before choosing this all American college star to join their organization. "There will be other teams that think this may shake them up too much maybe they already have a team that's not stable," he said.

Cobb says it will take a team with solid leadership to draft the former Missouri Defensive lineman. While some players may give the man a tough time, most will only care about how he plays the game.

"His teammates will like him if he's a good player and helps them win," he said.
