You've heard of the gap year when high school graduates take a year off before college and travel. But how about a mid-career gap year?

Anna and Roy de Jesus embarked on an adventure of a lifetime with their 1-year-old daughter, Sophia. They quit their jobs and went to Europe. They call it the best decision they ever made.

The coupled developed their great escape plan. They were news reporters in Florida working long hours and not seeing each other or their daughter as much as they wanted. So, they saved money for 2 years, sold their car and furniture, put themselves on a strict budget, quit their jobs and traveled throughout Europe for 6 months.

They took their trip a year and a half ago when Roy was 33 and Anna 37. They wanted more to life than just work. The couple started a blog on their trip so people could follow their travels. When they got home, they turned their fabulous trip in to a new business. They now make travel videos for a convention and visitors bureau in Florida.

Lee Abbamonte took the same leap. He was 29, making six figures in corporate finance, and wanted a more fulfilling life. He quit and traveled the world. Lee is the youngest American to visit every country in the world. His adventure also evolved in to a new business. He is a travel expert and writer and started a travel website and blog. Brands started to contact him. They pay him to travel and talk about it.

General Mills quietly tweaked its legal policies, which made getting coupons or joining a contest online two things that would simultaneously prevent you from being able to sue the company. But what about Tweeting or just liking a General Mills company's Facebook page? There's concern about that, too.

Hundreds of oak barrels of wine are all stacked in one room. You might think this is Napa, California. But it's not. It's the Brooklyn Winery, located in what was once an old pickle factory in Williamsburg. Refrigerated grapes are brought in from the North Fork of Long Island and from the Finger Lakes and then aged in barrels. These days urban wineries are becoming more popular, and they're popping up all over the borough.

Bonobos is an online men's clothing store. The company tried something new in 2013 by trying something, well, old. Bonobos mailed to some customers a traditional catalog. The results were very surprising to these Internet retailers: the catalog attracted more customers to the website. Bonobos' catalog circulation has now increased.
