ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
The woman allegedly involved in the shooting death of an Orange County deputy was walked out of the Orange County Sheriff's Office and into a transport vehicle Tuesday morning.
Deputies say the woman will be booked into the Orange County jail.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office says one of their own was shot and killed in the line of duty early Tuesday morning.
Officials say the 34-year-old deputy died at Orlando Regional Medical Center from his injuries.
Investigators say the deputy was responding to a car burglary call in Windermere off South Apopka-Vineland Road when he spotted a suspect and pursued him.
Deputies say the suspect fired at the deputy hitting him at least once.
The suspect was later found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Capt. Angelo Nieves said, "Right now our work is just beginning, not only the investigative phase but the tragedy we that we now have to endure with the family and try and help them; a wife and three children to try and understand this which is unbearable and really not understandable. We hope that the community realizes the sacrifice this family is undertaking this evening,".
Officials are not yet releasing the name of the deputy but did say he was a husband and father of three children and was with the Orange County Sheriff's Office since January 2011.
Sheriff Demings released this statement via Twitter: "I asked the community for their prayers for the deputies family including a wife and three small children."
