OCALA, Fla. (WOGX FOX 51) -

One of two Army Special Forces soldiers killed this in Afghanistan is from Florida, the Pentagon has confirmed.

Sgt. 1st Class Roberto C. Skelt, 41, of York, died on Feb. 12 during a machine-gun attack in Kapisa Province.  Also killed in the attack was 22-year-old Spc. John A. Pelham, of Portland, Oregon.  Pelham and Skelt were assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, N.C.

A Pentagon spokesman said two gunman wearing Afghan army uniforms were responsible and left open the possibility that the attack was coordinated by the Taliban, the Associated Press is reporting.

The shooting and a separate attack on a district center where Americans had been operating is being investigated jointly by American and Afghan officials.
