A suburban Chicago-based newspaper says it's endorsing state Sen. Kirk Dillard in the Republican primary for Illinois governor.
The editorial board at The (Arlington Heights) Daily Herald cites Dillard's experience, suburban background and vision for the state
Dillard is among four GOP candidates running in the March 18 contest. The others are state Treasurer Dan Rutherford, state Sen. Bill Brady and businessman Bruce Rauner.
Dillard also picked up an endorsement from the Illinois Education Association endorsement on Friday.
Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn is seeking re-election and faces one primary challenger, activist Tio Hardiman.
