ATHENS, Ga. -

Authorities at the University of Georgia (UGA) are searching for two people they suspect are responsible for several thefts on campus.

According to UGA police chief Jimmy Williamson, the are suspects in a string of thefts in a number of general buildings on campus. The thefts have been plaguing the campus for about three weeks.

The suspects are described as a black female and a black male. The female is about 5'10 tall with an average build and the male is about 6' tall with a thin build.

Both appear to be in their "mid-twenties to mid-thirties." They are known to drive a newer model silver Dodge Avenger with an infant. Williamson says the pair was spotted using credit cards stolen from UGA at an Atlanta area Target store.

Police are advising students to secure their belongings and faculty to lock their office doors.

Anyone with information that can help identify either of these suspects is urged to contact the University of Georgia Police Department at 706-542-2200.
