SANFORD, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

The Florida Highway Patrol has identified two people who were killed in a motorcycle crash in Sanford on Tuesday morning.

Andre Grenier, 58, and Helene Bouchard, 54, a husband and wife visiting from Canada, died at the scene of the crash on State Road 415 and Celery Avenue around 11:30 a.m.

Officials say a pickup truck was traveling northbound on SR 415 when a spool of electrical wire fell out of the truck-bed and struck the motorcycle, causing the crash.

Investigators say Grenier and Bouchard were ejected from the motorcycle which then caught on fire.

Officials say the driver of the truck, a 46-year-old man from Daytona Beach, did not immediately stop following the incident, but he later returned to the scene to meet with authorities.

The crash remains under investigation.
