Clinton Twp. man charged after woman dies in crash

A Clinton Township man was arraigned on charges Tuesday after a deadly traffic crash in Mt. Clemens on Saturday, Feb. 15.

Oren Eker Brown, 39, has been charged with Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death, which carries a 15 year prison term and/or a fine. Brown has two previous convictions for drinking and driving related crimes.

Police say Brown was driving on Groesbeck Highway Saturday evening when, according to witnesses, he ran a red light and hit a Chrysler PT Cruiser at the intersection of Cass Avenue.

Gayle Naiman, 64, of St. Clair has been identified as the driving of the PT Cruiser. She as pronounced dead at the scene.

Brown was taken to the hospital and received treatment. He is currently being held at the Macomb County Jail.

His bond was set at $300,000.

Funeral arrangements for Naiman will take place at Faulman & Walsh Golden on Utica Road in Fraser. A visitation will be held Friday from 2 - 9 p.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m. The funeral will begin at 11 a.m.
