J.R. Smith pulls down Vince Carter's headband

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - Despite being fined, heavily, by the NBA for previous pranks, NY Knicks guard J.R. Smith was at it again.

During the fourth quarter against Dallas on Monday night, Smith pulled down the headband of Maverick's shooting guard Vince Carter.

Carter, who played for the NJ Nets in 2004-2009, seemed to be unaffected by the prank.

When asked about the headband incident after the game, Smith told reporters "no, your eyes are playing tricks on you."

The Knicks ended up losing to the Mavericks, 110-108.  The team had lost eight out of 10 games leading into last night's match-up at the Garden.

Smith was fined $50K by the NBA for "recurring instances of unsporstmanlike conduct" after he untied the shoe laces of Mavericks player Shaw Marion and the Detroit Pistons' Greg Monroe earlier in the season.

Smith later apologized on Twitter.

The New Jersey native wasn't the only Knick New Yorkers were talking about. Early Tuesday morning, guard Raymond Felton turned himself into police on gun possession charges.

The NYPD says the charges don't stem from him using the firearm in a menacing manner but of possessing a gun he wasn't registered to have.

Making New York City more energy efficient

More than half the population of New York City rides public transportation to work. No other metropolis in this country even approaches that percentage or the MTA's total number of riders. For that reason, New York likely ranks as the most energy-efficient city in the nation. But what would it take to make the city even more energy-efficient or even self-sufficient?
