ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

It was a rescue that all came down to timing.

A tow truck pulled out a 2011 Dodge Avenger from a retention pond off John Young Parkway in Orlando around 3:30am Tuesday morning.

Officials say a woman was trapped inside as her car was quickly sinking into the water after she crashed.

Orlando Fire and Rescue says a newspaper delivery man immediately called 911 when he noticed the car in the pond.

Investigators say the delivery man attempted to rescue the trapped woman as fire rescue arrived less than five minutes after he placed the emergency call.

Rescue crews say they were able to break thru a rear window and pull the woman out just seconds before the car sank.
