Orlando elementary school lock down lifted

The Orlando Police Department says the lock down at Rosemont Elementary was lifted Monday morning around 10:30am.

Officers say they responded to a home on Lacaya Way near the school because a suspicious person may have been trying to enter a home.

Officials say the suspect ran away on foot and dropped a gun.

Officers say they are searching the area.

The suspect is described as a black male, wearing all black with long shorts, 6'0, medium build.

School officials say the school was locked down around 7:45am.

Officials say the suspect was not located, however, the gun that he dropped was located and secured by police.
