PALM BAY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

An arrest has been made in an altercation and subsequent shooting that occurred in the parking lot of Brevard County college campus last month.

One of the three men involved in the incident, Landyer Contreras, 24, faces a felony charge of aggravated battery.

In newly released 911 calls, a witness is heard describing a violent fight between two Hispanic brothers and a black man at the Eastern Florida State Palm Bay campus.

"One of the Hispanics approached the black male in his car. The black male got out with a piece of wood, proceeded to chase after the Hispanics. They chased him back to his car where I heard a pop," a 911 caller explains.

Contreras was arrested on Wednesday but bonded out of jail late afternoon.

"I was defending both me and my brother," Contreras said.

Palm Bay police say Contreras and the two other individuals involved in the incident, 25-year-old Amado Contreras and 24-year-old Landrick Hamilton, all face misdemeanor charges of breach of peace and disorderly conduct.
