'Nine' Roundup: Stuff you rarely hear in the D, 'Mini-me' pope and Diet Coke Slurpees

(WJBK) -- A Southfield director and writer wants us to laugh at ourselves with things you never hear people say in Detroit.

Larry Nilan published a video on YouTube this week featuring seven local artists saying "stuff you rarely hear in the D."

Some of the highlights:

  • "When I walk through Greektown for 3 minutes, I actually feel like I'm in Athens."
  • "Yeah, I'm just leaving Pine Knob. The concert wasn't all that, but getting out of the parking lot is smooth and efficient."
  • "I think it's so cute how so many old guys take their granddaughters to the bars in Birmingham."
