SORRENTO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

Florida Fish and Wildlife Officials said Friday that the Lake County man who said he was injured after wrestling a bear are not true.

Agency spokesman Greg Watchman told Fox 35 that Joshua Hennessy admitted in a written statement that he was injured when he fell as he was chasing after a bear on Thursday night.

Watchman said Hennessy saw the bear walk into the Oak Springs Mobile Home Park on Lafayette Avenue in Sorrento at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday and decided to chase it.

Hennessy is expected to be OK.

Meanwhile, agency officials continue to investigate the matter and are cooperating with law enforcement on whether charges will be filed against Hennessy.
