DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

Bella the German Shepard who went missing last Friday in Daytona Beach was found Thursday night.

The dog ran off while on the way to the veterinarian, just before she was supposed to have staples removed following surgery that was done weeks earlier.

Volunteers spent Wednesday searching high and low for this 4-year-old dog that has been missing since Friday.

"We have volunteers everywhere searching the woods, driving walking, she's been missing since Friday, she's injured , she's limping, she's recovering from surgery," said Eva Ziehl with Daytona Beach German Shepard Rescue.

Bella is a rescue dog that recently had to have surgery after fracturing her tail and pelvis when she was hit by a car last month, she was on her way to get staples removed from her body when she ran.
