Hiker Resorts To An Unusual Food Source To Survive

Posted: Updated:

A hiker lost in the Australian outback says he lived on flies for almost three weeks.

Daniel Dudsis, a twenty-six year old from Germany, telling Australian police he had some food which kept him going at the beginning.

This man was on a sixty mile hike through the wilderness in Queensland State when he got stranded by floods.

"It appears he's lived on some very small number of provisions. He had some baked beans and some cereal, we're led to believe. But once that ran out after the first few days, he says he's been living on flies," said Queensland State Police Inspector, Mark Henderson.

Henderson says the hiker is pretty skinny now, but, wants to keep on hiking.

He's promising to stick to main roads.
