Oheka Castle owner shot in head releases video

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - The owner of the Oheka Castle in Huntington, Long Island who was shot in the head and survived thanked his friends and relatives for their support in a video.

“I got a break, whatever that reason what happened. I guess God looked out for me. He’s always looked out for me. I’m a very spiritual person; always pray. I thank God for everything that I got,” said Gary Melius.

He was wearing an eye patch and had bandages on his head as he spoke into the camera. The video was released on Monday.

Melius was shot just above the left eyebrow in broad daylight on Feb. 24 outside the castle.

The gun shot exited behind his ear and never penetrated his skull.

The castle has hosted weddings and events for dignitaries and celebrities.

Police continue to say little about their probe in the shooting of the well-connected businessman.
