Seinfeld actor Wayne Knight isn’t dead

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - Despite what millions of people initially thought over the weekend...

Wayne Knight, the actor best known for his regular appearances on the hit sitcom Seinfeld, is not dead.

He sent out a couple of tweets to dismiss rumors that he had died in a tragic car accident in Pennsylvania.

The rumors of his untimely death were started by a fake article that copied the look and feel of TMZ, and sparked a social media fire-storm about the so-called death of the “Seinfeld’ actor in a collision between his car and a semi-tractor-trailer in rural Pennsylvania.

But he is in fact, very much alive.

The 58-year-old actor sent out two tweets from his verified account confirming that he is still breathing, and very appreciative of the concern his online “death” generated.

In his first tweet, he said: “Some of you will be glad to hear this, others strangely disappointed, but….I am alive and well!”

He followed that up with a few comments about today’s “morbid” online culture: “Does someone have to DIE to trend? Geez! Thanks for all the love everybody. I didn’t know you cared. Glad to be breathing!”
