Letter carrier robbed at gunpoint in Detroit

A letter carrier was robbed at gunpoint Monday afternoon while on the job. His cell phone, money and mail delivery truck was stolen.

The vehicle was discovered nearby in the neighborhood. The suspect was locating with the help of residents, and the stolen cell phone was also used which helped lead authorities to the suspect. The individual was found blocks away from where the mail truck was found.

The suspect has been arrested.

Wylie Christopher, a U.S. Postal Inspector, says Detroit police apprehended the suspect within three hours, and all the property has been recovered.

Detroit police say the suspect is a male teenager.
