An elderly couple died after a brutal fire on 300 block of North Elmwood Avenue last night.
Pictures from neighbor Mike Lastnoff show flames shooting out of the Middletown Township home.
The fire started before 8:30 last night, crews on scene reported multiple holes in the attic and second floor of the home which apparently hindered firefighting operations.
Neighbor, Laszlow Czikora low, tells fox 29 he is still shaken, but by all that he witnessed last night, he says heed to help but was kept away by firefighters for his own safety.
"I look up, I saw the house, and I mean, smoke from the cracks on the windows, just billowing out. And I said is anybody inside? And it is like we don't know. So I ran out in front of the house, I was screaming get out of the house, house on fire. And I was prepared to, I don't know, but he is like don't open that door this house is hot, "recalls Laszlow.
He continues, "I didn't know what that meant. He's like that house is set to go up. He's like get out of here. I was like -- it all registered, oh, my god, how can I help? And the guy said go down to the next street down here and when the trucks come in, you wave them up the street because they don't exactly know where this little back street is at. "
He had tears in his eyes as he recounted that story. Officials tell us that one of the two victims was pronounced on scene, a second initially transport today Saint Mary Medical Center but was later pronounced, as well. At this point we don't have a cause of that fire.
