Two women died in a car accident in Newark D. E early Friday morning.
The crash happened at 1:18 a.m. as a 2000 Plymouth Neon traveled north on Paper Mill Road. The driver lost control of the vehicle and it traveled over the raised concrete median, struck a curb, and came to a stop when the car's passenger side struck a utility pole.
23-year-old female, and her passenger, a 22-year-old female, were both pronounced dead at the scene. Neither were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Rain at times expected tonight, Friday, and early Saturday. Another fall-like blast of cool weather to follow for the weekend.
Expect unsettled weather through Saturday morning as waves of showers and thunderstorms move through the area. Some of the storms may bring heavy downpours later this afternoon.
It's still muggy out there. Things start to change tomorrow afternoon, as the rain clears out, and much cooler air moves in making it feel more like fall. Sunday is nice with a cool breeze and unseasonably low temperatures which last though early next week.
