PHOENIX (KSAZ) -

Not one but two young children were pulled from pools today.

A baby boy has just died after being pulled from a murky green pool.

The second incident; a three year old was pulled from a hot tub at an apartment complex.

A one year old boy was taken by ambulance to Phoenix Children's Hospital.

Fire crews say when the family pulled the boy from the pull he was lifeless neighbors tried giving CPR until medics arrived.

Neighbors heard screams just before noon coming from this Phoenix home.

"We all ran over there you could tell by the tone something was really wrong," said Amanda Ullrich.

When neighbors got into the backyard, they saw a one-year-old boy had been pulled out of the pool; he wasn't breathing. Neighbors tried to give him CPR before paramedics arrived.

"I was with my mom trying because she was very upset, the paramedics came, and we got out of there," said Ullrich.

Fire officials say they don't know how long the baby boy was in the water, and they don't know how he got in the fenced in pool.

"Either the gate was left open or it wasn't working appropriately we are not sure at this time what it was," said Captain Jonathan Jacobs with the Phoenix Fire Department.

"It's sad it's a baby its just a terrible deal I don't know what happened in the end, but he didn't look very good when he left bless his heart," said Ullrich.

Paramedics continued to give CPR and rushed the baby to the hospital.

"we can't stress enough that these are preventable incidents and the impact these have on families are great and that these children when they have an incident like this we can't get them back," said Jacobs.

"I'm a parent you got to watch your kids I feel so bad for her I feel bad for the baby, but you hear it time and time again it's really awful, terrible," said Ullrich.
