Parkers Farm issues recall, possible Listeria contamination

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture is asking consumers to avoid eating certain products from Parkers Farm. State investigators found some of their items were contaminated with Listeria.

The department issued an alert to avoid 15 products, including spreads, salsa dips and peanut butter. The products are sold in major chain stores Aldi, Walmart, Whole Foods and Target - among others - under various labels. If customers have these products, they can return them to the store for a full refund.

So far, no illnesses have been reported. Federal officials report they are still investigating this contamination.

No one from the company would comment on camera. However, they did post a letter to customers online.

"This action is being taken as a precaution in response to testing conducted by the state of Minnesota," the statement said in part.
