Justice For Billy McCaw

Posted: Updated:
New Brunswick, New Jersey (My9NJ) - After over a month of family and friends pleading for more information on the tragic death of Billy McCaw who was found brutally murdered behind a home in New Brunswick, the Middlesex Prosecutors office has announced that they have a suspect in custody.

Charges have been brought on 38 year-old Timothy Puskas of New Brunswick who is also being held on additional charges unrelated to the murder of McCaw.

Rutgers student and neighbor to where Billy’s body was found, Anthony Massaro, discussed the tone of the neighborhood and advice for people in the area.

“At night there is a lot of safety issues. Always walk in groups, I’ll have my girlfriend with me; try to have another guy with me. Never walk around too late though too,” he said.

Rutgers police have now paired with the New Brunswick police department to create a neighborhood police. Originally Rutgers police would have stayed on campus to monitor any suspicious activity there, but now they will be driving around with New Brunswick police off-campus to keep a close eye on the homes where many students rent.

Most of the crime in New Brunswick takes place between 1:00am and 5:00am which is often when college students are walking around and attempting to leave parties.
