'Yik Yak' App Raises Cyberbullying Concerns

PHILADELPHIA, P.A. -

Speak your mind without a trace. That's the drive behind the new App 'Yik Yak,' but it's causing some concern about cyberbullying.

You can say what you want. No name, no clever handle required. And young people are loving it.

'Yik Yak' was designed by college students as a way for them to talk about campus life, classes and to decide where to eat. However, now it's become a tool of cyberbullies.

We talked to students at Temple and Drexel universities, and they couldn't even believe some of the vicious things that that were being posted through 'Yik Yak.'

The app's own staff disabled 'Yik Yak' in Chicago after high school administrators alerted parents. And the app is already being banned at several schools across the country.

Fox 29's Dave Kinchen has more details in this video report.
