Tesla Test Proves Electric Cars Are Wave Of The Future

Posted: Updated:
Wayne, New Jersey (My9NJ) - Tesla’s electric cars have been making news in New Jersey after a change in policy banned the sale of these vehicles in the Garden State.

Michael Thwaite is a partner in the Tesla Motor Club who claims that electric vehicles are the way to go!

“I mean if you snap the accelerator down, I’ve had people basically say s**t we’ve just been rear-ended,” he explained.

Thwaite said that he’s been a fan of electric cars ever since he was younger.

“I kind of assumed when I was 12 growing up, that by the time I grew up, we’d all be driving electric cars, that might even be flying. Now the flying thing seemed to have escaped us, but the electric thing is here so I figured I should just get on board then,” he explained.

The Tesla Roadster goes 0-60mph faster than Porsches, Ferraris and other exotic cars. Thwaite said that the speed along with the efficiency is why he thinks people who try electric cars will want to buy them.

But there is a problem for electric car lovers here in New Jersey. You see, Tesla uses a direct sale model and sells from store fronts and the internet. New Jersey Law requires that you sell through a dealer. Even though Tesla was granted an exemption, the Motor Vehicle Commission recently decided to reverse the exemption and ban the sale of Tesla vehicles in New Jersey.

The ruling caused a lot of heat for Governor Christie’s appointed members for being anti-business.

Another bill to try and counter the ban is now pending. This bill would allow for the sale of electric cars using the direct sales model.

Last week President Obama signed into law the Sean David Goldman Act which authorizes the State Department to take forceful measures against a country that doesn't help to return an American child held there. Oftentimes, these cases of international child abduction occur when parents are divorced and one parent is holding a child or children from the other parent in a different country. Sadly, that is the case for Plainsboro woman Bindu Philips.

Leisure Village is a quiet adult community in Lakewood, New Jersey. It's the last place that you would expect to see a swastika carved in front of someone's home, but sadly Fred Blumberg and his partner said that is exactly what happened to them. Blumberg explained that as an older gay couple they've dealt with harassment for years.
