Tornado warnings across Central Florida cause major damage in some areas

Posted: Updated:

There was a flurry of heavy rains and whipping winds tackling areas of Central Florida Saturday. During mid afternoon storms plowed through Orange, Brevard, Lake, Seminole, Volusia and Osceola Counties.

There was even a tornado warning for Central Brevard, Southeastern Orange and Northeastern Osceola Counties. This warning was in effect from 1:30 p.m. until 3:15 p.m.

In most areas, the rain was so bad, drivers had to put their wipers on high just to see the roads.  But in other areas, the wind was so strong, it blew trees down and even lifted part of a roof off the home that was in the process of being built.

There was even parts of the plywood found on the neighbor's home.

Fox 35's Mike Synan has a look at the weather scare that hit Lake Nona.
