WASHINGTON (WJBK) - General Motors' CEO Mary Barra testified before a Senate subcommittee Wednesday about the company's recall crisis.

Members of the committee questioned more aggressively than those of the House subcommittee the day before, accusing GM of attempting to cover up the problems with an ignition switch that is now linked to 13 deaths.

Barra has been the CEO for just a few months now, but she has been at GM for 33 years. Because of her long-time involvement with the company, some members of the committee have a hard time believing Barra is as ill-informed as she claims to be.

California Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer appeared to be so frustrated that she challenged Barra's womanhood, saying, "I am very disappointed, really, as a woman to woman, I am very disappointed. Because the culture you are representing here today is a culture of the status quo."
